York Community High School invites veterans, their families and community members to join us for two special events honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.

Veterans Day Breakfast & Memorial Unveiling
Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 8:30–11 a.m.

After years of planning and fundraising, York High School's Military History Club is proud to unveil The Memorial to the Fallen, a tribute honoring York graduates who served in the United States Armed Forces and made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country. The memorial will be accompanied by a dedicated website highlighting the lives and legacies of these individuals, including their time at York and their military service. The Military History Club extends its gratitude to American Legion Post T.H.B. 187 and the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce for their generous support in making this project possible.

The morning will begin with a brief memorial unveiling ceremony at 8:30 a.m. outside Baker Auditorium, followed by York's annual Veterans Day Breakfast in the school cafeteria.

Cost: Free for veterans, their families and friends
Entrance: Please enter through the Main Entrance. Students will be available to direct guests to the ceremony.
Parking Note: Due to multiple events taking place at York that morning, parking may be limited. Reserved spaces near the Main Entrance will be available for veterans and their guests.

Veterans Day All-School Assembly
Tuesday, November 10, 2026 | 8–9 a.m.

York High School will host its annual Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 10, bringing students, staff and veterans together to honor and recognize those who have served our nation. All veterans are warmly invited to attend this special schoolwide event as the York community comes together to express its gratitude for their service and sacrifice. The assembly will take place on November 10 rather than November 11 due to York's weekly late-start schedule.

Veterans' Reception: Veterans are encouraged to arrive at 7:15 a.m. in the Yorker Room for coffee, donuts, pastries and bagels before the assembly.
Entrance: Please enter through the Main Entrance. Reserved parking spaces will be available near the front of the building.
