Dominic Mural

If you’re traveling along the Kennedy Expressway this fall, keep an eye out for a familiar Jackson Elementary face!

Dominic Scheitel, a third grader at Jackson Elementary, is featured on a GiGi’s Playhouse mural displayed along the Kennedy Expressway as part of its Generation G campaign. The mural is expected to be seen by an estimated 5 million people throughout the campaign.

The display comes at a meaningful time, with October marking Down Syndrome Awareness Month. GiGi’s Playhouse’s Generation G campaign encourages people to build a more accepting world through generosity, kindness and inclusion.

For the District 205 community, it also means one of our own students is helping share that message with millions of people across the Chicago area. It is a message we work to bring to life every day in our classrooms by creating inclusive spaces where every student feels welcomed, valued and supported.

So, next time you’re driving along the Kennedy, look up and keep an eye out for Dominic!
