Congratulations to the York Community High School girls volleyball team for earning the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT! In addition to this prestigious recognition, the team achieved the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll distinction, placing them among the top 20% of GPAs nationally by division.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award celebrates volleyball programs that excel in the classroom, requiring teams to maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale). This year, a record-setting 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball programs earned the award, showing that success on the court is matched by dedication in the classroom.
The High School Girls division saw a new record of 527 programs recognized, underscoring the strong academic commitment of student-athletes nationwide. York’s recognition as part of the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll reflects an outstanding level of achievement, placing the team in an elite category of programs that prioritize both athletic performance and academic excellence.
This accomplishment adds to the 2024–25 season for the Dukes, further highlighting the team’s hard work, discipline, and all-around excellence.
