Elmhurst, IL – York High School is proud to announce the appointment of Morgan Jahnke as the new Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Basketball program.
Jahnke joins the Dukes after helping build a highly successful program at Willows Academy, where she served as head coach last season (2025-26), following several years as an assistant coach.
During her six seasons at Willows Academy, Jahnke was part of a program that captured three consecutive Regional Championships in 2023, 2024 and 2025. In 2024, the team set a school record for wins in a season. In 2025, the Eagles garnered a Sectional title and an Elite Eight appearance in the IHSA playoffs. Last season, she guided the team to the first ISL Conference Championship in school history and was named the conference coach of the year.
“I am thrilled to join the York community,” Jahnke said. “My goal is to build on the strong traditions here while fostering a competitive, disciplined, and supportive environment for our athletes to thrive both on and off the court.”
A former collegiate basketball player at Concordia University Chicago, Jahnke brings experience both as an educator and coach. She has spent the past 10 years working in physical education while building her coaching experience at the high school level.
York’s girls basketball program has a strong tradition of competitive play and community support, and Jahnke is eager to begin the next chapter of the program as preparations begin for the upcoming season.
