We're calling all residents to get creative! Send us your pictures and videos on how you and your families are staying positive and having fun through the State's "Stay at Home Order". We will collect this content through the month of April, and feature it on our website and social pages. Some of the submissions may also make a debut in the next City of Elmhurst Front Porch Newsletter.
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 is a national leader in future-ready learning. The District currently serves more than 8,000 students who reside primarily in the City of Elmhurst and small portions of Oak Brook, Bensenville and Addison.
D205 has been in regular communication with government and health officials. This afternoon, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced a decision to extend statewide school closures and the “Stay at Home” order until April 30, 2020.
The extension follows updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and an announcement from the White House extending physical distancing guidelines until April 30, 2020.
D205 Superintendent Dr. David Moyer is examining the decision and will share how this impacts district-wide plans beyond our current closure as soon as possible.
View the latest message from Dr. Moyer, which details the importance of social distancing, an update regarding fundraising through the District 205 Foundation, construction progress and more.
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 will remain closed until April 8, per Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s new emergency order issued yesterday during his daily briefing. The new order extends the governor’s original shutdown of the state’s public and private schools dated March 17-30. The measure, which also includes an official “Stay at Home” order, is a continued response designed to “flatten the curve” or spread of COVID-19 across Illino
