On September 3 and September 5, 2019, Elmhurst District 205 hosted three informational meetings about the upcoming integration of all-day kindergarten. Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 is a national leader in future-ready learning. The District currently serves more than 8,000 students who reside primarily in the City of Elmhurst and small portions of Oak Brook, Bensenville and Addison.
York High School student athletes helped cut the ribbon on a new campus fitness center Monday evening. The state-of-the-art workout gym grew from vision to reality thanks to a generous $100,000 donation from the York Athletic Boosters. The York Athletic Department partnered with the Elmhurst District 205 School Board to allocate the remaining $20,000 needed for the renovation project.
Pearson Clinical Assessment, a former vendor of Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205, recently notified D205 that a limited data breach involving their AIMSWeb 1.0 product by an unauthorized third party occurred. From 2012 to 2017 Pearson Clinical Assessment provided AIMSWeb 1.0 assessment services to Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205. Elmhurst D205 has not worked with Pearson since 2017 and has not provided any data to Pearson since that time.
After four years of intense community engagement, which resulted in clearly identifying learning and teaching priorities, such as All-Day Kindergarten, increased STEM opportunities for students, two-way immersion Dual Language programming in Spanish, intervention and enrichment opportunities for students, and the addition of instructional coaches; and the development of a Master Facilities Plan that resulted in the successful passage of a $168.5M referendum in November of 2018; the administration developed an Operational Plan that will guide decision making, professional learning, and resource allocation for the next three years.
Beginning July 29, 2019, Elmhurst District 205 began to use a new online payment system called PushCoin. Parents and guardians of D205 students will be able to fund their students’ lunch accounts. Parents and guardians of York students will be able to pay their high school fees through PushCoin, in addition to funding their students' lunch accounts.
