Custodial parents/guardians of District 205 students, as well as District 205 staff are automatically included in messaging (both email and phone calls) sent through this system. Because Talk205 is connected to our Student Information System, parents need do nothing when students move grades or schools. Information will automatically be updated if you have already provided the District with an email address and phone number.

To submit items to be included in Talk205, please contact Tonya Daniels, Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations, at tdaniels@elmhurst205.org

Assessment Information Link Correction
The following information was part of Dr. Campbell’s message that went out on Friday, April 8. Unfortunately, the link included was incorrect.  The following link has been corrected. We apologize for any confusion.

It is hard to believe that we are already close to the end of another school year!  I want to take a moment to celebrate a full year of instruction with the least amount of interruptions to in-person learning, allowing for a strong focus on learning and teaching!  We are looking forward to seeing the academic growth made by our students as we enter the upcoming end of year assessments. You can learn more about the upcoming assessments HERE.

Strategic Planning Survey Extended!
While our district-wide strategic planning process is well underway, we are aware that there was an unfortunate delay in the delivery of the postcards to many of your homes - many of them arriving well past the original deadline of April 1. While we received nearly 1,000 surveys, as mentioned before, the most important part of this process is the work that is done in partnership with our community and staff. Your feedback is extremely important in this process and because of that, we feel that it is important for us to re-open the survey to allow an opportunity for those of you who were unable to complete it to do so. The survey is live again and will remain open until April 24. We look forward to receiving feedback from you and appreciate your passion and desire to be a part of this important process.

Kindness Month
The City’s Commission on Youth has created a month’s worth of kindness for families to do throughout April. Some of the acts of kindness are super simple and some are more involved, but all are intended to make kindness a habit in your community, classroom and home.

Before you start, print out this flyer and talk as a family about what you plan to do for each item. Talk about what being kind means and why it’s important. Planning the month should be fun. No one says you have to go in order. You can hang up the list and simply mark them off as you complete each act of kindness.

Kindness itself is very motivating and the true reward is the feeling you get from completing a kind act, but as an added incentive, the City’s Commission on Youth will award thirty $10 Elmhurst City Center gift cards randomly among all entries received. No later than Monday, May 9th, please email your completed list to Commissioner Anne Zimmer at a.zimmer@lwreedy.com. We encourage you to submit pictures from your family's month of kindness too! For more information and resources, visit elmhurst.org/kindnessmonth.

Summer Programming
It seems a little hard to imagine this when there was snow in the forecast this past weekend, but summer really is just around the corner!  The arrival of summer brings summer programming, and we have been hard at work preparing for it!  We are excited to again offer a diverse array of programs for our students, most of which are offered at no cost to D205 families!
