Custodial parents/guardians of District 205 students, as well as District 205 staff, are automatically included in messaging (both email and phone calls) sent through this system. Because Talk205 is connected to our Student Information System, parents need do nothing when students move grades or schools. Information will automatically be updated if you have already provided the District with an email address and phone number.

Elmhurst Youth Commission Teen Job/Volunteer Fair March 20
The City of Elmhurst Youth Commission invites you to participate in the Teen Job/Volunteer Fair:

Tech Savvy Girls STEM Conference at Lewis University. Registration Open
Tech Savvy is a daylong career conference at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL designed to attract girls to the STEM fields and to inform mentoring adults about STEM education and careers. Activities will run from about 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2019 Girls and their parents can use the Register Today! button at http://www.techsavvy-il.org to register for workshops at the event.
Adults and older high school students also are needed to serve as volunteers. Volunteers also should register to indicate their availability at http://www.techsavvy-il.org.

The 23rd annual Elmhurst Student Chess Tournament will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd, beginning at 6:00 PM in the York High School Commons, 355 W. St. Charles Road, Elmhurst. Students will compete in the following six categories: 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6-8th grade and high school. Last year, over 250 students participated in the tournament.
All students who attend school in Elmhurst – public or private – are welcome to participate with the completion and submission of a signed permission slip and tournament fee of $3.00. All participants will receive a certificate; the top four in each category receive ribbons; and the tournament champions receive a trophy.
The annual Student Chess Tournament is organized by parent volunteers, many of whom coach chess clubs at their children’s schools. Contestants will compete within the rules, playing five timed matches each. Volunteer judging is performed by independent chess experts who are brought in for this event. Snacks and drinks will be donated from parents and provided. Pizza will be sold during the tournament. Raffle prizes awarded are donated by It's Good to be King here in Elmhurst.
The registration deadline is Friday, March 29th. Interested families may contact their child’s school chess club leader for the registration form and rules. Questions may be directed to Chris Khayat at 630-290-1504 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

- Sandburg Middle School – 4 p.m.
- Bryan Middle School – 6 p.m.
- Churchville Middle School – 8 p.m.
D205 Foundation ‘Queen of Hearts’ Raffle @ Cottage Hill
Cottage Hill Station has partnered with the Foundation to support fundraising efforts by hosting a Queen of Hearts Raffle. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the restaurant (no purchase necessary). Drawings will be Thursday evenings between 7:30-8:00. The lucky winner will split the proceeds with the Foundation as the beneficiary of the raffle. Much gratitude to Cottage Hill Station for helping to support educational enhancements in all thirteen public schools!
