Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205’s COVID-19 weekly saliva surveillance screening program is among several key mitigation factors that are helping keep our schools open and even more safe, including during periods of increased community transmission. Since we began our program in March, we have identified 14 confirmed cases of COVID-19 among our students in grades 6-12, who are participating in the saliva screening program. These individuals were referred to their doctor or a state testing site to confirm their positive screenings.

District 205 is excited to welcome all students back to campus full-time, five days per week beginning April 12, 2021. Our principals have already started sharing details for each campus. As a reminder, all families who are currently enrolled in remote learning have another opportunity to select in-person learning. This selection will be for the remainder of the school year

At tomorrow night's regularly scheduled meeting, the Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 Board of Education is expected to approve a motion to return to five full days of in-person learning per week at all grade levels beginning Monday, April 12, 2021.
