District 205 is excited to share the District’s plan to open the 2021-22 school year with five full days of instruction per week for all students in all schools. Students and teachers will be on campus. The District will provide its standard comprehensive academic program and a full offering of extracurricular activities to support students’ academic, social, and emotional success. As always, plans also will remain in place to ensure the health, safety and well-being of students and staff.
The COVID pandemic has been challenging for all of us. We are thankful to be at a point where all of our students aged 16 and older are able to be vaccinated.
On the days your child(ren) are learning in-person, you must certify their health prior to arrival at school.
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205’s COVID-19 weekly saliva surveillance screening program is among several key mitigation factors that are helping keep our schools open and even more safe, including during periods of increased community transmission. Since we began our program in March, we have identified 14 confirmed cases of COVID-19 among our students in grades 6-12, who are participating in the saliva screening program. These individuals were referred to their doctor or a state testing site to confirm their positive screenings.
