Elmhurst, IL – Elmhurst School District 205 will join the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in the eleventh statewide survey of school climate and learning conditions. The survey provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers and parents to have a voice in improving their schools. From January 24 through March 31, students in grades 4-12 and teachers will be asked to take a 25 -minute research-based survey to help identify strengths and weaknesses in their school’s learning environment. The parent survey supplement will also be administered during the same survey window. These surveys will serve as an opportunity for schools to reflect on progress since the last statewide implementation.

Elmhurst, IL – York Community High School proudly presents “Twelve Angry Men” on Feb. 2-4 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Baker Auditorium. A play known for its origins as the teleplay by Reginald Rose and starring Henry Fonda, York Drama looks forward to breathing new life and improved commentary to this classic drama.

It has been such a great couple of weeks getting to talk with so many students and hear about the exciting things that they did over winter break. Students and staff returned from break strong and dove right into the important work of teaching and learning.

Keep an eye out for our second Community Connections Newsletter, expected to be hitting homes this week! With a continued focus on keeping out community informed, this new communication tool we launched in August will continue to be sent to all homes within the District 205 boundaries. We hope to keep the community informed about important information and updates from the District.
All-Day and Half-Day Kindergarten will now be available at all D205 Elementary Schools starting with the 2023/2024 school year. Enroll at your neighborhood school beginning November 1. Field families should register at Edison Elementary School.
A Dual Language lottery will also be available at registration, for students that do not attend Conrad Fischer. Deadline for lottery entry is November 18
We are excited to announce that District 205 has adopted a new form of school-to-home communication called ParentSquare. This communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection and replaces our previous system.
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 fifth grade students from Field and Hawthorne elementary schools entered the Celebrate America Fifth Grade Creative Writing Contest. As they have done in recent years, the D205 students placed in first, second and third place locally and fifth grade student, Elin Seiler (Field) also went on to win the national competition.
Lori Sweeney will begin her role as Principal of Jefferson Elementary School July 2, 2022.
In accordance with Illinois statute, Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 will destroy temporary records for students who left or graduated from the District before 2016. Additionally, the District plans to destroy permanent records for students who left the District prior to 1962. This destruction of records will occur on July 1, 2022.
Parents/guardians or adult students who have graduated, transferred or withdrawn from the schools and would like to take possession of their temporary records (Class of 2012) or permanent records (1962) may do so by contacting 630-834-4530 and asking for Micki Dobrowski prior to July 1, 2022.
Mary Wilson, school counselor at Churchville Middle School, was recently notified that she had been selected as the Middle School Counselor of the Year by the Illinois School Counselor Association and, in a surprise ceremony today, was notified that she has also been named the Illinois School Counselor of the Year.
