News Post

On behalf of the Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 Administrative Leadership Team, we would like to take this moment to salute the Class of 2021.

Soon our rising fifth and eighth-grade students will take part in a variety of celebration activities and promotion ceremonies honoring the completion of learning milestones. Our students stand ready to continue their journey into middle school and high school.

Similarly, just as more than a century of York High School alumni have before them, our graduating seniors are preparing to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas and take their place in the world as young adults.

To the parents, families, and friends of our graduates, we understand that these last days of school are to be cherished and celebrated. Thank you for holding on tightly and keeping your circles close during this most challenging year. Your love, guidance, encouragement, and understanding have created an invaluable foundation upon which your children will continue to grow. To all of our graduates, we extend our hope for even brighter days ahead. The last two school years have not been easy ones. You have overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to achieve academically and in extracurricular activities. You also have learned and endured unexpected life lessons of resilience and gratitude well beyond your years, showing everyone around you just how prepared you are to conquer whatever the future holds.

Remember to hold your heads high and stand tall in this moment; new days of opportunity await. Remember to reach out to your teachers, mentors, and families who have worked incredibly hard to support you. They will continue to be there for you and provide the necessary tools for your success in District 205 or in life.

We could not be more proud of you. Well done, Class of 2021. Congratulations and go Dukes!

Sincerely,

Dr. Linda Yonke
Interim Superintendent
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205
