Course Descriptions:

Design and Modeling
Open to incoming 6th, 7th, or 8th grade D205 students
Students discover the design process and develop an understanding of the influence of creativity and innovation in their lives. They are then challenged and empowered to use and apply what they have learned throughout the unit to design a therapeutic toy for a child with partial paralysis.

Computer Science for Innovators and Makers
Open to incoming 6th, 7th, or 8th grade D205 students
Students learn about programming for the physical world by blending hardware design and software development, allowing students to discover computer science concepts and skills by creating personally relevant, tangible, and shareable projects.

App Creator
Open to incoming 7th or 8th grade D205 students
This course exposes students to computer science as a means of computationally analyzing and developing solutions to authentic problems through mobile app development, and conveys the positive impact of the application of computer science to other disciplines and to society.

Flight & Space
Open to incoming 7th or 8th grade D205 students
The exciting world of aerospace comes alive through Flight and Space. Students explore the science behind aeronautics and use their knowledge to design, build, and test an airfoil. Custom-built simulation software allows students to experience space travel.

Registration for these learning opportunities is available now and will remain open through Wednesday May 12th, 2021.
