Elmhurst District 205 congratulates seven of our York High School seniors, who were announced as Semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Competition.
The Moving Forward Together Reopening Page has been updated as of September 10, 2021, with new information, including information regarding the voluntary BinaxNow COVID test for students. There is also a link to the COVID-19 Dashboard that is updated each Friday and organized by school to share information regarding any COVID positive cases. The Dashboard highlights several metrics the District regularly tracks in order to ensure student health and safety.
Our engineers and contractors have devised a plan where no construction traffic will be allowed to enter or leave the York High School property during the times of 7:30-9 am and 2:45-3:30. This is being done to avoid the high traffic volume times around York HS. Additionally, we will restrict construction traffic during Wednesday's “late start” days.
Earlier today, Governor Pritzker issued an Executive Order that requires that masks be worn indoors by all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to P-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. Exemptions are allowed for students with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Together, we will open the school year on August 18th. We are excited to continue with five, full days of instruction for all students. We also continue to encourage our shared responsibility to foster a climate of respect and acceptance for all perspectives. We will continue to provide our community with updates regarding the status of our Fall 2021 Plan.
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 Superintendent Dr. Keisha Campbell is pleased to announce two key leadership appointments for the 2021-22 school year. Kalissa Smith advances to become the new leader of Lincoln Elementary School, and Rudy Gomez joins District 205 as the Executive Director of Technology.

York High School Summer School & All YHS On-Campus Activities/Sports will resume tomorrow, June 22, 2021, as planned.
The D205 Facilities Department resolved the issue causing the carbon monoxide detectors to activate, and the Elmhurst Fire Department has confirmed that campus is safe to open.
Paddy Toole and Mickey Vreeland, York High School Class of 2021, are two of three recipients of the 2021 Brian E. Wagner Scholarship. Toole and Vreeland will each receive $2,500 toward their college tuition.
