Computer Concepts Proficiency Exam

York Community High School will offer an optional Computer Concepts Proficiency Exam. Students who believe that they possess the required skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher may sign up for the exam.

Who: Any 8th grade student, public or private, who plans on entering
York High School as a freshman in the fall of 2008. Additionally,
any York student who has not earned credit for the
Computer Concepts course may attempt the exam as well.
- What: Computer Concepts and Skills Proficiency Exam.
- When: Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
- Where: York Community High School. (Student registration will be
accepted on a first come first served basis.)
- Why: Computer Concepts and Skills is a course that all York students
must take to graduate.
Note: Students who demonstrate proficiency (75% or better) on this exam will be exempt from the requirement to take the course. Students will NOT receive graduation credit for passing the exam but may choose another elective instead.
