Master Facility Planning Process Overview

Master Facility Plan FAQs Please wait while we automatically redirect you to the Master Facility Plan FAQ

We are Future Focused

District 205 is creating a Master Facility Plan (MFP) that will focus on educational needs for students, including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), All Day Kindergarten, and Future Ready Learning. The plan will also address pressing maintenance and facility needs.

This will allow the District to continue to offer exceptional student experiences, while ensuring their safety and security in our buildings. The MFP reflects the District’s commitment to Future Ready Learning, equal access to technology, and equitable learning spaces in all schools.

The process began in 2015 with Focus 205, a collaborative conversation between the community and the District. The team’s recommendations included developing a Master Facility Plan, exploring All Day Kindergarten, which is offered by most other high-performing unit districts, and bringing preliminary plans and pricing back to the community for additional feedback.

After thoughtful study and conversation, the Board of Education agreed to share the draft Master Facility Plan with the public for additional feedback. The process will begin in March and continue throughout the spring.

Please check back for meeting dates and times and opportunities to participate in the conversation.

Talk205 is District 205's communication system, powered by SchoolMessenger. Custodial parents/guardians of District 205 students, as well as District 205 staff, are automatically included in messaging (both email and phone calls) sent through this system.

Because Talk205 is connected to our Student Information System, parents need do nothing when students move grades or schools. Information will automatically be updated if you have already provided the District with an email address and phone number.
