Elmhurst Community School District 205 announces the launch of a new York Distinguished Alumni Program (YDAP), which will recognize and honor those alumni who have distinguished themselves through significant and/or extraordinary accomplishments, service and/or an outstanding contribution to society. Such exemplary alumni bring great pride and prestige to York Community High School and Elmhurst District 205, raising the self-expectation among existing students through the realization that these “Dukes of Distinction” once walked the halls of York and the streets of this community.
Developed with input and assistance from the District 205 Foundation for Educational Excellence, the York Community High School Administration, Board of Education members, alumni and other friends of York, the York Distinguished Alumni Program’s Steering Committee is currently accepting nominations.
- Nominations for the Inaugural Award must be submitted by March 31, 2013 - nominations are now closed.
- The Inaugural York Distinguished Alumni Award event will be held November 7, 2013.
The York Distinguished Alumni Program (YDAP) Try-Athlon was held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Fitz's Spare Keys in Elmhurst. Teams of four played pool, bag toss and bowled to help raise money for the program. Our sponsors include the Bialecki Family, City Beverage, York Boosters, David Pruneau and an anonymous donation in the memory of William G. Carlson, Jr.
Thank you to our sixteen teams for helping raise awareness of this exciting new program. A special thanks to all of the volunteers that helped make this event possible.
